ALMOST EMBARRASSED (December 12, 2011)

I am starting to wonder about my many interests. Nay, passions. As reflected in my ceaseless scribbling, there are way too many of them. And most of them are plain silly. A total and complete waste of time, that is. All things considered, why should I give a hoot about galloping climate change, the floundering European Union, the travesty of contemporary art, the untold failings of economics as a discipline, or the all-encompassing corruption that plagues contemporary society? It is time to retire from all this crap and focus on a few things that really matter to me. For crying out loud, I am sixty-five already! As for the things that really matter to me, there are very few. So few, in fact, that I am almost embarrassed to enumerate them.
