The Heartbleed Bug is in the news. Wherever I look on the World Wide Web, I am advised to change all of my passwords. And soon. Protected information about my humble self is open to wrongdoers of all sorts, that is. Annoyed by all this, I just googled the damned bug. And I quickly found all the information I needed on a website of the very same name (www.heartbleed.com). The only trouble is that I cannot understand a word of it, except that the Heartbleed Bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of some software in common use. Its name is beyond me, too. For all my trying, I could not figure out whether or not all this affects me, as well. But the hoopla got me thinking. I was planning to switch to online banking, but that plan is now scrapped for good. Even more, I have decided to cut my exposure to the World Wide Web to the absolute minimum. And all this on account of the Heartbleed Bug. Hooray!
