THE NAME OF THE SAVIOR (April 10, 2014)
I just walked out on my terrace, and I was stunned by what I saw. The beauty of the Mirna valley was past compare. “Jesus Christ,” I spoke out loud, “this is incredible!” Mind you, this terrace is hardly new to me. I first stepped on it almost exactly twelve years ago. “Well,” I continued, “I simply cannot believe my eyes!” In the middle of the afternoon, the sky is perfectly clear. There is not a cloud in sight. On top of that, the bora has swept all the dust from the air. The valley is as green as green can be, and the Adriatic is shining blue from the horizon. I shook my head, and left the terrace at once. It was too much even for me. The Mirna valley beats Eden in beauty, I am ready to swear. Alas, the best I can do under the circumstances is to write about the whole thing! And in quite some detail. But how can I even start to paint the picture in front of my bewildered eyes? As witnessed by my first words, invoking the name of the savior is my best bet, at least in these parts.
