As I walked to the university this morning, and this walk takes me about twenty-five minutes, I saw four or five people, most of whom were walking their dogs. I also saw at most twenty moving cars, many of which were taxis. On many ever-busy roads I saw seagulls strutting about. And seagulls are shy birds. Very shy. That is how deserted is Reading for Boxing Day!
