TO TELL THE DREAM (April 20, 2012)

It was already light when I woke up this morning. My beloved was next to me. She was awake already. I reached for her hand and then I leaned over to kiss her. “Slept well?” I asked. And then I woke up for real. It was pitch dark still. My beloved was fast asleep next to me. It took me a while to fall asleep again. It was already light when I woke up this morning. My beloved was next to me. She was awake already. I reached for her hand and then I leaned over to kiss her. “Slept well?” I asked. “I did,” she answered. And then I told her that this was the second time that I woke up this morning. Everything was exactly the same both times. Not for the first time, either. It was hard to tell the dream apart from reality, I tried to put it in words. Am I really awake as I write, though?
