THE SMOLDERING SPECTACLE (April 23, 2012)
A bunch of motorcyclists recently died in the biggest collision that has ever happened in Istria. Some were coming from one direction and others from the other along the eastern coast of the peninsula. They met in a curve on a narrow road. There was a huge explosion followed by fire. Several motorcyclists died on the spot, and a number of them are in critical condition. Few among them came out unscathed. Now, the accident has invited all sorts of comments from all and sundry. Browsing through them on the World Wide Web, one can immediately spot two distinct groups of commentators: the motorcyclists and everyone else. The former group maintains that the collision was due solely to bad luck, while the latter goes on and on about all the wild things that motorcyclists do on the road. And about the motorcycles that have become way too powerful for proper control on the road. As well as all things that should be done to prevent such horrendous accidents in the future by curbing the motorcyclists. Of course, the two groups of commentators are dead against each other. There are huge explosions followed by fire. As for me, I am only enjoying the smoldering spectacle.
