SPRING CLEANING, AGAIN (July 22, 2012)

My beloved is coming to Motovun tomorrow afternoon, and I find myself thinking about all sorts of chores that await me. So much wiping and scrubbing to do. As well as laundry to wash and dry. In addition, I must buy a few things for her to eat and drink. But the house is uppermost in my mind, for she has the sharpest of eyes. And the most delicate of noses. Come to think of it, how would my house look and smell if my beloved were not to visit it for a few years? At which point would I start cleaning it for my own sake? Would it still be her next visit that would get me going in earnest? Tough questions, these. But my guess is that I would settle for one big cleaning a year, no matter whether my house needed it or not. Say, spring cleaning. Also, my guess is that I would enjoy it quite a bit each and every time. Yes, spring cleaning is what I would settle for. Needed or not, it goes without saying.
