GOODBYE NEWS (December 1, 2012)
“Couldn’t care less,” I hear myself as I am browsing through the news. “I don’t give a fuck,” I hear myself again a moment later. And I am reading what I consider to be the best on offer on the World Wide Web. None of the newspapers whose online editions I visit is to be neglected on the daily round, but I am getting ever more annoyed with my habits. “Screw this,” I hear myself one more time. Am I getting careless, though? Am I becoming oblivious to all the shit that is going around at the moment? I can only hope that this is the case, and that I will not return to the world affairs in earnest after a brief respite only. That is my most sincere hope, indeed. It is time to look inside, for that is where all the world’s ills reside. Inside. In my fucking mind. As well as yours, dear reader. It is us who are guilty of all the misery that surrounds us. “What a load of crap,” I hear myself for the last time as I turn off my computer. Goodbye news. Goodbye world.
