ELECTRICITY IN ISTRIA, AGAIN (October 25, 2012)
My uninterruptible power supply or UPS having expired from too many jolts earlier this year, interruptions in power supply go directly to my two computers. One of them is turned off most of the time, but the other is on standby while I am in Motovun. Made by Apple, it shuts down whenever there is any problem with electricity. Thus I can tell when there are problems with the power supply even while I am asleep. I found my computer dead this morning, for instance. Thus I can tell that the power supply is interrupted every four or five days on the average. I would love a better measure of unreliability of electricity in Istria, but this one is good enough for the time being. Luckily, electronic devices are getting ever cleverer in this regard. They take care of themselves. Otherwise, they would not last long in Istria.
