DYING FOR REVENGE (October 11, 2012)

Whenever my old associates from the green movement approach me about some new venture against unsustainable development, I tell them that I am retired. I do sympathize with their causes, I tell them, but I am not active any longer. A quick account of my suffering through the Croatian courts is usually enough for them to desist. If they push me a bit, though, I tell them that I do not believe that anything of any value can be achieved in Croatia, anyhow, but that I still wish them the best of luck. But do I? When I think of unsustainable golf development, which was my main concern in my active days, I actually do not have anything against it any longer in spite of all the criminal speculations with land in the hands of the state that has come along with it. Even more, I wish everything developers have dreamt up over the years to come to fruition at long last. To wit, I wish Croatia the very worst of capitalist futures that politicians, government officials, and developers have concocted to date. Let them have their fill. Let golf courses cover the whole land. Let there be no water for the local inhabitants. Let their agricultural land vanish in front of their eyes. Let golfers squeeze them out of their houses and homes. Let them taste of their own stupidity. Yes, I am dying for revenge. At least it would speed up the collapse of this unsustainable world.
