Thus the title of a recent book by a certain Eben Alexander, an American neurosurgeon and a son of a neurosurgeon who has come out of a coma several years ago. While in coma, he has experienced a world he considers more real than the world around us: blue sky, fine clouds, angels… He believes that he has witnessed heaven itself. The book is thus a delight for all those who believe in afterlife. There is one small problem with his argument, though. He has witnessed life in coma rather than life after death. The whole argument he has come up with is thus the result of a simple logical error. As for ecstatic experiences of those approaching death, they are a dime a dozen. It only took a neurosurgeon to come up with the travesty of an argument. Good luck with heaven, Dr. Alexander!
