TO DO WITH THEM (February 21, 2011)
If I am often disgusted by the humans in whose midst I have to live, even more often I am delighted when I remember that I have next to nothing to do with them.
Addendum (February 26, 2016)
At the risk of repeating the same thought over and over again, I am delighted by the fact that I have next to nothing to do with my fellow humans ever more often. Actually, this is the one and only thought that crosses my mind whenever I find myself looking around my table in one of my favorite watering holes either in Motovun or Zagreb, my twin homes. Not surprisingly, the joy of retirement often crosses my mind in the wake of this nagging thought. In my dotage, I am nothing but an observer of the world around me. The delight of being apart of it all is growing by the day. One fine day, it will be enough for me to see a few humans walking past me to feel heavenly bliss. Humans, the movie. Unadulterated entertainment.
