My beloved wants a dog. She keeps talking about it year after year. In particular, she wants an Afghan hound. Apparently, it is one of the oldest breeds around. Its temperament can be aloof and dignified, but it is joyful and even clownish at play. It is often referred to as an aristocrat among dogs. On occasion it is called the King of Dogs. Which is why I keep repeating to my beloved that I already have a dog just like the one she wants. The Queen of Dogs, too. Anyone who knows her only laughs when my argument comes up in conversation.
