“He has written more books than he has read,” I overhear a snippet of conversation at a neighboring table in a Zagreb café. I am impressed by the achievement, even if exaggerated, but I fail to pick up the name of the awesome writer in question. Must be Croatian, though. Which is perhaps why no-one even laughed at the neighboring table. Croatians excel when and where they are least expected. And writing more books than one has read is a perfectly plausible achievement in these parts. Congratulations!
