I just witnessed something amazing. Seeing that the traffic in the center of Zagreb was paralyzed, I followed it all the way to the point where the trouble started. And I found a car scraped by a tram. The superficial damage cannot cost much to fix. No-one was hurt, but the car was left at an angle that barred tram traffic in both directions. The police was there, but they did not have the intelligence to move the car to a side street. I saw at least a hundred trams standing still in both directions from the incident. Besides, I saw thousands of cars standing still in all directions approaching the point where it all started. By and by, the entire center was jammed. Amazing! The smallest incident can bring this idiotic civilization to a complete and total stop. As I am writing, cars keep tooting in desperation. Zagreb is at a standstill. And no-one can do a thing about it at this point. Chances are that it will take at least an hour for the jam to clear up because a tram scraped a car in the center of the city.
