STOCKBROKERS ARE HUMAN, TOO (March 6, 2014)
There is an interesting article in The Wall Street Journal today following on the newspaper’s analysis of Wall Street stockbroker records. Reportedly, more than one-thousand six-hundred brokers have bankruptcies or criminal charges in their past that were not made known to regulators. This leaves investors in the dark, the newspaper concludes. This sounds like a stunning finding, but I wonder what else would be expected from stockbrokers. To wit, stockbrokers are human, too. That is, born cheats and thieves, if not much worse. And so are investors, it goes without saying. Not to mention the regulators, of course. In short, the newspaper has a lot of analysis to do in the years to come. Who knows, maybe even journalists have bankruptcies or criminal changer in their past? What a horrible thought!
