SO MANY BONS (September 1, 2014)
Whenever I meet Daniel Bon from Kaldir, which is within sight from Motovun, I report that it is a pleasure to meet another Bon in person. “I’ve never lived close to any other Bons but my parents,” I repeat over and over again with enthusiasm bordering on the ridiculous. When I met him today, though, I had much more to say. “Imagine,” I smiled from ear to ear, “yesterday I signed a petition signed by a whole bunch of Bons, including your father!” The petition is in support of a fellow from Bosnia, who has lived in Motovun for many years together with his family. Now they are facing unexpected trouble from some authorities in Pazin. To their horror, they face extradition. Anyhow, it was an incredible joy to see so many Bons in one place. Having heard my story so many times already, Daniel kept smiling without a word. There are so many Bons in and around Kaldir, anyway. And none of them go bananas when they meet each other.
