KIND OF VICTORIOUS (November 27, 2014)
I feel kind of victorious this morning. First I went for a blood test together with my beloved, who goes for regular tests twice a year. And then I walked back to her apartment at the fastest pace I could muster. Whatever today’s test tells me, I am in the best of shapes. And this is the case mainly because I am paying due attention to my body. I stopped smoking more than a year ago, and I slashed my alcohol consumption half a year ago. At the moment, I am drinking about a third of what I used to drink before. Enough boasting, though. I will have the results of the blood test by this evening, and that is when it will be proper time for rejoicing. Hey, I can hardly wait!
Addendum (November 28, 2014)
As I expected, the results are pretty close to perfect. Of all the parameters, only cholesterol is slightly above the recommended level. Everything else is hunky-dory. For instance, my prostate is well within the recommended level. Most important at this stage, my liver seems to be purring along in a state of bliss. Several parameters regarding this vital organ are amazingly good. Although blood tests go only so far in providing a picture of one’s health, they are useful in pinpointing problems ahead. So far, there seems to be nothing to worry about. Phew!
