GLOBAL SPYING (January 24, 2014)
Edward Snowden has been in the news for quite a while, but I have not read a single article about him thus far. How is this possible? The question unexpectedly comes to me when I bump into yet another picture of him in one of the online newspapers I regularly browse through. And the answer is perfectly simple. I have been absolutely sure that global spying was upon us long before his revelation. He provided the detail, all right, but the detail is of little interest to me, anyway. And he provided a face to remember. As far as I am concerned, that is all. In short, why should I be interested in him? Now, regardless of what happens with the National Security Agency or Edward Snowden, I will continue with my beliefs. Global spying will continue unabated come what may, that is. Whatever you hear from Barack Obama or anyone else in America, be sure that global spying is still on. And that it will only intensify as long as this civilization manages to keep limping along. For it is in the nature of everyone in power to collect all the information available about those at their command. That will never change. Only the technology will change. As well as the faces of men or women who occasionally reveal the supposed travesty to us all.
