CROATIA AS AN EXPLANATION (March 12, 2014)
As usual, my beloved took her shower ahead of me this morning. When my turn came, there was no water. We assumed it was some works at either a neighbor or the restaurant in the apartment building. On our way to the morning coffee, we learned that it was neither. We met a few neighbors and a waiter from the restaurant, and everyone was puzzled. There was no water anywhere in the building. We could see no works anywhere in the street, either. In short, the water supply is mysteriously cut not only in Motovun, but in the Croatian capital, as well. Admittedly, this is rare in Zagreb, but it evidently does happen every once in a while. This is Croatia, after all. Whenever anything weird happens here, I find it the best explanation available. Croatia. Period. As countries go, this is surely a special one. In my mind, it has risen to the status of an explanation. Wow! What a country! Unexpectedly, I feel proud that I hail from such a country.
