CAVE ART SOON (March 11, 2014)

I have been playing with Lego bricks like crazy the last few months, and they are becoming ever closer to my heart. Now it is geometric art that I play with once again (“Blessing, Curse,” March 6, 2014). Having finished my painting cycle focusing on entoptic forms, I thought the whole thing was behind me forever (“The End to the Cave Art Now Cycle,” August 22, 2013). The Lego toys thus came as a bit of a surprise. And now I find myself staring at my geometric compositions in my beloved’s apartment. I can stare at them for hours, but I know that I will deconstruct them in just a few days. Strangely enough, this gives me great joy at this stage. The Lego toys are for my beloved and me only. No-one else is invited. After so many failed attempts to bring back the shamanistic art of our ancestors, I want to keep it only for ourselves. Everyone else will have to wait for a while—say, a few thousand years. Come what may, cave art will be back with a vengeance. The same holds for the shamans, my brothers and the dearest of friends. Cave art soon, and no kidding.
