“CLIMAX DIVIDE” (August 24, 2014)

Thus The Guardian today. “Lesbians know the secret to the best orgasms,” elaborates the newspaper. According to a scientific survey published recently, men engaging in sex with a familiar partner have a greater chance of reaching orgasm than women. Close to three-thousand men and women were surveyed, and the chance of orgasm in a sexual encounter was reported by eighty-five percent of men and sixty-three percent of women surveyed. For the men, it did not matter whether they were heterosexual or homosexual. Having a penis was enough, or so the argument goes. Lesbians, though, have less trouble reaching orgasm. Sexologists have long theorized that lesbians enjoyed sex more because they were not inhibited by expectations of performance and pleasure that plague heterosexual couples. Although the article does not provide the comparative figure for the chance of orgasm among lesbians, the argument is persuasive enough. Assuming that it is about eighty-five percent, just like in men, the case for lesbianism is clear. It is all about orgasms. The more, the merrier. Long live the climax divide!
