TEN, HUNDRED (February 19, 2008)

Yesterday I sent around hundreds of electronic-mail messages informing my friends and acquaintances around the world of the new Residua website. Although I was rather terse, and maybe even cryptic, I hoped many of them would forward my message to their friends and acquaintances, thus potentially widening the circle of my readers. As ever, I do not wish to have many readers, but only the right ones, no matter how few. The trouble is that it is rather difficult to figure out who the right readers might be, and thus one must reach for as many of them as possible by way of expediency. It just crossed my mind that I had no idea how many readers of the right kind, or at least to my liking, there were at this juncture. If I had to come up with a wild guess, I would venture that there might be at least ten of them, and at most a hundred.
