NAG CHAMPA (June 8, 2008)
On my way home this evening, I met Sonja Levak half way down Borgo. “Is this smell of incense coming from your house?” she asked out of the blue. I was quite surprised by her question, but then I, too, smelled the incense. “Yup,” I sniffed the air a few times, “it must be coming from my house!” The smell was much more intense than I would have imagined. “What is it?” Sonja asked. “It’s Nag Champa,” I replied, “and I did actually burn a few sticks of it this afternoon.” Without much ado, I decided to burn incense in my house much more often than hitherto in memory of our encounter. And Nag Champa can always be found in Zagreb at a perfectly reasonable price.
