MY FINAL ESTIMATE (July 7, 2007)

If I continue writing at the present pace, in about four years my Residua will bulge to two-million words. And there is no reason why I should not continue writing at the present pace in the next four years. Nonetheless, the result of my calculation quite stunned me. Years ago, I thought there were no more than one-million words in me. Then I doubled my estimate, albeit rather reluctantly. But now it seems I should triple my original estimate. By the time I kick the bucket, which could easily be more than twenty years from now, I may well end up with three-million bloody words to my name. This is my final estimate, though.

Addendum (January 8, 2018)

Final estimate? Ridiculous, to say the least. I am well beyond three-million words already, and I will be lucky if I end up with four-million words before I kick the bucket. But this is far from my final estimate, I hasten to add. Final estimates are for the birds.
