CLEANING UP THE HOUSE (August 15, 2007)
I just spent two hours or so cleaning up the house. It is so clean at the moment that I feel sort of proud of my achievement. In fact, the house has not been as clean for nearly two years, when I last engaged professional cleaners to do the job. But why the fuss? And why the boast? My No. 1 son and his girlfriend will be with me in a few hours. Now, she is Korean. No matter how much time I spend cleaning up the house, it is likely to remain filthy by her standards. Or so I fear, being an ever-so-slightly anxious father.
