NO PRIZE FOR GUESSING (July 1, 2003)
As of late, I rarely take books on my trips. I prefer writing to reading. More, I prefer looking around to reading. But I selected a book for my last trip eighteen days from today, when I will fly to Trieste via Munich. No prize for guessing that this is one of the many editions of Apollonius of Rhodes’ The Voyage of Argo. It consists of four books: Preparation and Departure, Onward to Colchis, Jason and Medea, and Homeward Bound. Once again, no prize for guessing which book is my favorite.
