THE ONE-THOUSANDTH ADDENDUM (August 27, 2000)

Today I wrote the one-thousandth addendum to the three-thousand six-hundred and eight notes written to date, not including the present one. By the way, this was the one-hundred and thirty-eighth addendum written this year, the record number to date. All told, I now have four-thousand six-hundred and eight dated pieces of writing. The addenda are thus twenty-eight percent of the notes, that is, twenty-two percent of the total. I am not sure why all of this is important, though. At best, these statistics give me a feeling of how far I can reach in another twenty-five years, by the time I approach my eightieth year. To wit, assuming no change in the rate at which I write, by then I may have about ten-thousand dated pieces. Yahoo!
