“TRUMP SAYS HE WOULD DEPORT ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS” (August 17, 2015)

Thus The Wall Street Journal today. “Donald Trump is calling for the deportation of millions of immigrants living in the US illegally and for the end of automatic citizenship for children born to foreigners on US soil,” elaborates the newspaper. Now that many around the globe are on the move due to climate change and resulting strife, most rich countries are edging toward a tough stand toward immigrants. Trump is not only likely to attract quite a few in America with his immigration policies, but he may well become very popular in Europe, as well. Leaders like him could not but be wished for across the embattled subcontinent, which would give him an additional boost in the land of the free. Sooner or later, the likes of Marine Le Pen, Geert Wilders, and Nigel Farage will come to his aid from across the Atlantic. And they will not mince their words, either. America and Europe will be united once again, this time under the banner of something very like fascism of old. The next task for its leadership will be to give to the growing movement an entirely new and palatable name. Trumpism, perhaps? Sounds plausible enough.
