Thus the title of a post on a tourist website of some kind, which I came across in one of my searches of the World Wide Web. I was looking for references to my writing, and was surprised to see my name in a German text, in which I am mentioned as someone’s guru, no less. The person’s name is nowhere to be found, though. Here goes:

Mein Guru Ranko Bon, also der mit dem weltältesten Blog von 39 Jahren (!), hat wieder mal ins Volle getroffen.
 Mit zwei Einträgen, die es in sich haben. Am 14. Januar 2015 erklärt er in genau 18 (achtzehn) Zeilen die Funktionsweise des Kapitalismus. Kürzer geht es nicht.

And then my disciple adds a link to my “Tip of the Iceberg” (January 14, 2015). It goes without saying, my blog goes back forty rather than thirty-nine years. This is but a minor complaint, but disciples need keeping in line at all times. Anyhow, he or she continues by introducing “My Fucking Generation” (January 16, 2015), to which a link is added one more time:

Und am 16. Januar kommentiert er einen Zeitungsartikel, wonach das menschliche Wirken mit der technischen “Revolution” in der Landwirtschaft, in den letzten 60 Jahren die Umwelt stärker beeinflusst und belastet hat als 10,000 Jahre zuvor.
 Die Folgen: Unfruchtbarkeit der Felder, Verschmutzung der Umwelt und aller Gewässer und der offenbar schon nicht mehr aufhaltbare Klimawechsel, der unvorstellbare Katastrophen zur Folge haben wird. Und aus heiterem Himmel fühlt er sich schuldig, denn es ist eben seine Generation, die all dies verursacht hat. “My fucking generation”. Und leider auch meine, wie ich schuldbewusst hinzufügen muss.

My disciple closes with a few words about my Residua website, which comes highly recommended, of course. Although I cannot figure out who might be the person behind this post, and on some cockamamie tourist website, I am pleased to see that my writing is attracting some attention on the web. As well as alleged disciples.
