WOMEN IN GROUPS (January 17, 2012)
I am appalled by women in groups. The larger the group, the more disgusting I find it. Also, the younger the women in the group, the more appalling it strikes me. I have always been puzzled by this reaction of mine, but I think I now have a plausible answer to the puzzle. Women huddle together for defense against men. Their high-pitched voices are a part of the wall they put up for their defense. They are not only stronger in a group, but a man cannot be interested in more than one woman at a time. Thus he finds women in groups disgusting. Men in groups are an entirely different matter, of course. They can easily break up groups of women, and then the game is back to normal, as it were. I bet male chimpanzees are appalled by female chimpanzees in groups. And I bet female chimpanzees screech a lot when they huddle together.
