THE VACUUM (December 26, 2012)
I had been writing like crazy the last few months. Actually, most of this year. But the last few days are entirely different. I have no wish to write anything. The few words I manage to pen feel kind of awkward, too. And I am of two minds regarding the change of pace. On the one hand, I am happy about the slowdown. I feel almost victorious on occasion. On the other hand, I feel a bit confused. My habits are in question. I have no idea how this conundrum will develop, let alone how it will be resolved, but I have a feeling that I am opening a new chapter in my life. Writing for the sake of writing is a habit of the past, I would sincerely hope. The anxiety associated with the new chapter is only to be expected, or so I console myself. At any rate, the new year is just around the corner. The next few days are to be appreciated for the vacuum they provide. And vacuum is surely the word. At least by comparison with the rest of this hectic year.
