THE OLD ROMAN LOOK (November 19, 2012)
The first thing I did upon my return to Zagreb is to go for a haircut. After more than two months since my last visit to the barbershop, my hair had gotten not only long, but also slightly curly. In another month or so, I would look like a real Roman. At any rate, people had started having trouble recognizing me as of late. When Zoran Radojčić saw me the last day in Motovun, he looked twice. “Hey,” he chuckled, “your eyebrows have disappeared!” Indeed, they look much more impressive with my hair short. Which is why I feel kind of normal after this morning’s haircut. I look like myself, that is. The old Roman look can wait a bit longer. Although I was intrigued a bit by the slightly curly hair, it will take me a while to go for it again. Who wants to look ancient, anyway?!
