THE EPITOME OF STRENGTH (September 15, 2012)

My livingroom is flooded with the afternoon light. I delight in the sun’s harsh glare. “Hey,” I notice at some point, “my paintings look kind of weak!” I start laughing a moment later, though. Black, white, and red, they are the epitome of strength. “Yup,” I quip to myself boisterously, “let me see anyone who can make them stronger!” And that is indeed a challenge, which I gladly announce to all and sundry. Come forward, painters! Make your paintings stronger than mine, if you possibly can.
