THE ANT INVASION (April 5, 2012)

This morning I found ants in my house. They penetrated quite deep, and there were quite a number of them. I could not figure out which way they came, but the invasion brought a clear message: rain is coming. Dubious as I have been about a slew of weather forecasts promising rain, I readily changed my mind. Everyone I have talked to about the ant invasion since this morning agreed with me on this score, as well. Ants in the house mean rain. Besides, everyone in these parts knows that ants are much better at weather forecasting than humans.

Addendum (April 6, 2012)

Well, even the ants goofed. There was a little bit of drizzle late in the evening, but there was no rain. Today is the same. If the ants made such a mistake, the weather itself must be pretty goofy. Which is why people talk about it all the time. It seems that the accumulated knowledge about weather patterns is rather useless nowadays. Pity the meteorologists, indeed.
