OMNI DIES SINE LINEA (January 6, 2012)
Youth! I used to be enchanted by the old Latin proverb about not a day without a line. Things have changed. How about a new Latin proverb: Omni dies sine linea?
Addendum (October 26, 2016)
The new Latin proverb surely beats the old one, and by a wide margin. What an effort it requires, though! Looking back, I cannot believe the recent years, and especially the period between 2011 and 2014. Throughout a veritable explosion of words, I did everything in my power to bring it under control. This haiku is only one among my untold cries of anguish about my predicament. But the first signs of success appeared last year. The explosion was over at last. This year is even better, but much remains to be done still. Looking forward, it will take several more years to rein my writing urge in for good. Nonetheless, all the new Latin proverb actually offers is an ideal. Nigh unreachable, it may well endure till my last breath. Omni dies sine linea!
