MY SINCERE APOLOGIES (November 25, 2012)
As we are strolling through central Zagreb, I rail against everyone in sight. “Look at that ghost,” I point at a pale old man limping along on crutches. “He can’t be sure whether he’s dead or alive!” My beloved keeps quiet. “Look at that abominable bitch,” I point at an ugly woman pushing a baby carriage. “She, too, got fucked!” My beloved says nothing. “Look at that petty burglar,” I point at a dumpy man sporting a bowtie. “He thinks the world is in his crafty hands!” My beloved keeps mum. When we reach home, I give her a big hug. “My sincere apologies,” I sigh with feeling. “You, too, are a mere human,” I kiss her forehead, “but I adore you still!” My beloved cracks a smile at long last.
