This morning my mailbox got inundated with electronic-mail messages from and about a certain Mario Loprete, apparently an artist from Italy, who has written to me a while ago in connection with Ca’ Bon Gallery in Motovun. It was clear from the beginning that some sort of virus was involved, but many people responded to the growing number of messages by either requesting that they be stopped, or explaining to everyone involved that some sort of virus was involved and that there was no need to send any messages about stopping the messages. Of course, each additional message of either sort only made the inundation worse. Now I am returning to my electronic mail every few minutes to make sure it will not get clogged up by the crap. But Mario will surely be remembered by many people around the world. Come to think of it, a good virus can do wonders for you in the world of art. Desperate as many artists are nowadays, it is a stroke of luck. Thus this piece, it goes without saying. Good luck, Mario!
