LIKE CATS (March 31, 2012)

Miroslav Milosavljević, know to all as Miško, is gone from Motovun. And so is his pizzeria, which was pretty much to my taste. Now he is opening a pizzeria in Poreč, where he lives. Ernest Benčić has thus rented out the place on the lower square to Marko Fakin from nearby Bataji. In his early twenties, Marko has shown an entrepreneurial spirit from early on. He has taken over his father’s winery, and he has been quite successful with it over the last few years. Now he has a whole bunch of high prizes from wine shows in Istria and beyond. Last year he opened a wine shop on Gradiziol, but the lower square is a far better place for him. In addition to a café and restaurant replacing the pizzeria, he has a wine store right next to it. Anyhow, many of Miško’s regulars can now be found at Marko’s. Like cats, they are loyal to the place rather than the master. But they all wish the young man all the very best.
