Thus the Norwegian title of Jo Nesbø’s crime novel, the second in the Harry Hole series. Published in 1998, the novel is not yet available in English, where it would be known as The Cockroaches. However, a Croatian translation is already with us. Žohari is the title, which attracted me as soon as I spotted the book in a bookstore window. Crime novels are not my cup of tea, but I almost bought the book on account of its attractive title. It sounds marvelous in Norwegian, as well. Oh, I love cockroaches! If I would ever write a novel, and especially one involving corruption and organized crime, I would go for the very same title. Brilliant!
