GENERATIONS, SCHMENERATIONS (October 21, 2012)
After an entire day with Marko, I am trying to compare our two generations’ ways. He spends much of his time communicating. And he does it in spurts. Now it is electronic mail, and now it is mobile-phone text-messaging. Now it is text, and now images. Much of the time, I am sitting and staring while he is communicating. It takes me much more time to receive or send an electronic-mail message. By comparison, I am slow. What is worse, it takes me ages to write anything I would consider worth posting on my website. But it is our first day together after more than a year apart. It will take me a few more days to figure out how to interlace his ways and mine. Soon enough, though, I will be back in full force. My output will match Marko’s. And my website will be humming along as ever. Generations, schmenerations.
