DIAPERS (April 14, 2012)
We went to Motovun Ranch to see Ivo Vrtarić and his new wife, Margareta, whom we saw for the first time. He pulled out of his recent stroke quite admirably. As we were talking about his long stay in a hospital in Rijeka and a spa not far from Zagreb, he mentioned his disgust with diapers. “Hey,” I jumped in, “I always thought they would offer quite some relief!” He was puzzled. “Well,” I started explaining, “no need to worry about anything…” He shook his head. “You have to turn in bed sooner or later,” Ivo muttered. Turning in bed has never crossed my mind. I have always imagined diapers standing up, like a cheerful toddler.
