CONFUCIUS AND I (November 9, 2012)
Confucius says a good man is one good people in the village like, and bad people do not like. Years ago I asked half in jest whether Confucius himself was needed to tell the twain apart (“Ask Confucius,” January 21, 2005). No, he is not needed, for I can tell them apart all by myself. And good people in Motovun like me, whereas bad people do not. Period. That is to say, I am a good man. Bad people in the village can go fly their kite. Confucius and I are like brothers now.
Addendum (November 10, 2012)
Ditto for Istria, and Croatia as a whole. Ditto for Europe entire. And I will go farther, for I have the guts. Ditto for the rest of the world, as well. To wit, a good man is one good people in the world like, and bad people do not like. There. When it comes to good and bad people anywhere, there is no reason to be wary of a sharp and decisive cut. Confucius and I are not only like brothers now, but we are one and the same. Yes, Confucius is I. Bad people in the world can go fly their kite. The revelation.
