CAPITALISM’S WORST NIGHTMARE (November 24, 2012)
My demand is slight and my supply is even slighter. In terms of the market for all and sundry, the buying and selling I do is negligible, if not even laughable. In terms of capitalism as it has come to pass, I am a complete and total dud. That is, a mere waste of time for eager merchants that crowd this world. But multiply my example by several billion, and I would become nothing less than capitalism’s worst nightmare. This is thus my challenge in just a few words. Duds of this world, unite!
Addendum (April 9, 2016)
To my surprise, I rejoiced at this piece when I stumbled upon it in one of my uncharted voyages through my writings. Even though I have abandoned all hope for this world in the meanwhile, the reckless pep of my own words enticed a wry smile. Less than a year later, I came up with further instructions along these very lines (“A Recipe for Foolproof Subversion,” May 14, 2013). Duds of this world do not seem to be interested, though. And getting united is farthest from their flabby minds. In fact, they are getting ever more divided among themselves for reasons that boggle the mind. Capitalism’s worst nightmare, my ass.
