“THE PACE OF LEAVING AFGHANISTAN” (November 28, 2012)
Thus The New York Times in its editorial today. “President Obama should move quickly to withdraw all forces in the next year,” elaborates the newspaper. Precisely. All forces should be moved as fast as feasible, but certainly before the end of the next year. What the editorial fails to mention is that this piece of advice has been valid ever since the invasion of Afghanistan. Or even before. To wit, all forces should have been moved out of Afghanistan even before they were deployed there. That would be an editorial exactly to my liking, but I will settle for the last one. I can only hope the American president reads editorials assiduously.
