THE THREESOME (December 19, 2011)

Should I say anything about Vaclav Havel? Nothing to say, though. Of Cesária Évora I have nothing to say, either. Or should I say a word or two about Kim Jong Il? Nothing to say, one more time. All in all, nothing to say about the dead that have been hogging the news the last few days in rapid succession. Except that death is an odd matchmaker. Or is it modern technology, instead? The threesome will be remembered as having something in common only on account of the instant news brought to us by mindless technology. All those computers and satellites and cameras and wires and sensors and buttons and antennae and screens. Only a short while ago these deaths would have absolutely nothing in common. Zilch. In fact, they would be weeks, months, and maybe even years apart. And no-one would even imagine bringing them up in the same breath, like I am doing right now for no reason whatsoever.
