THE NOKIA COLLECTION (February 3, 2011)
I got my first mobile phone in 1998. It was a Nokia. And it was very much to my liking in spite of its bulk and weight. So as not to have to learn any new tricks, my second mobile phone was also a Nokia. The familiarity with its functions was indeed useful back then. But it is ever less useful as years go by. Progress, I guess. I have stuck with Nokia, but I have been disappointed ever more sorely by functional changes that confuse me every time I get a new mobile phone. A couple of years ago I decided not to use the new Nokia I got. It felt so awkward, so uncomfortable, that it is still sitting in its box. I wonder what will happen with my last mobile phone, which I got only yesterday. Nokia it still is, but it feels so strange in my hand that it may well end up sitting in its box, as well. One fine day I may boast of an entire collection of virtually unpacked mobile phones. The Nokia collection, no less.
