THE KEY TO HAPPINESS (May 8, 2011)
“Where have you been?” ask all the waiters we come across in Zagreb. “We haven’t seen you for quite a while!” Wherever we go, we feel very much welcome. To our amazement, they still remember exactly what we want. My beloved does not want garlic with her fish, and I want some parmesan cheese with my risotto. All it takes is a few weeks of mysterious absence, and the whole world is yours. As far as the waiters are concerned, at least. For people like us, they are the key to happiness, anyhow.
