THANKS TO SLOBODAN VUGRINEC (July 12, 2011)

The more I think about it, the more thankful I get to Slobodan Vugrinec. He taught me many a lesson, and almost for free. And no kidding, for what are four-thousand euros by comparison with everything he has taught me so far? He taught me how Motovun works. He taught me how Istria and Croatia work. He taught me about environmental protection on both national and international scales. He taught me about the horrors of communism of old. And he taught me about the glories of capitalism that has come to pass. While he was at it, he also taught me about golf, real estate development, and spatial planning. Last but not least, he taught me about the ways and means of the human species as a whole. That is, he taught me to mind my own business like everyone else. Thanks to Slobodan Vugrinec, I am so much closer to enlightenment than I used to be a few years ago. For he taught me how to turn things around once and for all. No doubt whatsoever, the mayor of Motovun is one of the greatest teachers around.
