The day is amazing. It is sunny. And it is so balmy that all the outdoors cafés in central Zagreb are crowded. Dark glasses are a must, too. By comparison with only a couple of days back, spring seems nigh. But everyone knows this is not the case. Far from it. As weather forecasts keep drumming it into everyone’s skull, another cold spell is just behind the corner. Which explains so many surly faces among the festive crowds. Something is wrong with the weather. Something is so wrong, in fact, that it leaves barely any space for rejoicing.
